Brooklyns of the World

To me, Brooklyn is somewhere inbetween. There is fancier, and there is more authentic, but honestly, what does that even mean?

Brooklyn is the Brooklyn of New York City.

The Brooklyn of Brooklyn is either Prospect Heights or Clinton Hill.

Williamsburg is not Brooklyn.

Bushwick is not Brooklyn in the other direction.

The Brooklyn of Queens is Astoria, though Queens itself is not the Brooklyn of New York City. It is the Queens.

The Brooklyn of Mexico City is La Condesa.

Berlin: Kreuzberg.

There is no Brooklyn in Ethiopia.

Another Brooklyn? Champinero in Bogota, Colombia. Though the Brooklyn of Colombia is Medellin. The Brooklyn of Medellin? Poblado.

Copenhagen has no Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn of Europe is Berlin, whose Brooklyn, as stated above is Kreuzberg.

Brooklyn is also the Brooklyn of the entire world.

San Francisco: Mission.

Los Angeles: Echo Park.

Miami: Despite real estate hype, I don’t think it’s Brickell. I was more feeling South Beach between 5th and 1st. Wynwood is a Bushwick.

I swear I was at the Brooklyn of Amsterdam, but I can’t remember the name.

The Brooklyn of the body is the heart. Manhattan is a dick. Staten Island is the appendix.

Of all the times Brooklyn was Brooklyn, between 2010 and 2015 it was the most Brooklyn.

You can see this is a very subjective (and correct) guide.

I’d like to go to Spain one day. Do you know the Brooklyn of it?

The Brooklyn of my hometown Milwaukee is probably on the East Side near Brady St, though I haven’t spent much time there in recent years.

Do you know any other Brooklyns or agree/disagree with mine? I’d love to hear from you, maybe.
